Steamboat Springs Colorado Watercolor Workshop
FEATURES OF THE FACE AND PORTRAITS Steamboat Springs Art Museum | $350
Thursday, Friday, Saturday, June 7, 8, 9 from 9 am to 4 pm
Every face has the same features and yet every face is different. Learn how to develop each feature individually. Starting with the eyes, learn drawing, placement, color mixing, where to use warm and cool colors, how to make eyes look round and wet, etc. Similar detail studies will be done for the nose, mouth, chin, ears, and hair culminating with a portrait painting.

Have fun painting historic buildings with shady porches and shuttered windows as well as the old grain elevator near the railroad. Dennis Pendleton demonstrates lessons on painting windows and doorways; masonry; trees and foliage; and flower gardens with picket fences.

Capture the unique beauty of the Yampa and Elk River valleys painting working ranches with horses and cattle; old barns and haystacks; and emerald fields against the blue indigo mountains. Dennis Pendleton demonstrates lessons on painting aspen trees, rivers and streams, and ranch scenes.
